Kiss me im irish

Keep me close to your heart
In your eyes
So that we may share
Share love that defies

Meet me half way
Envelope me in your love

Inspire joyful tears
Melting the sun above

Instill within me a new confidence
Remain at my side my guiding light
Imprison my heart forever in your soul
Save me from this empty fight
Have me as yours until day relinquishes eternally into night

Being of irish descent on my mom's side (who will call me every year on St. pat's day to ensure I'm wearing green), this poem had a particular appeal to me. I was amused, then, after reading the poem, and assuming it was about an Irish or Irish-American boyfriend, to read you "hadn't a clue." That was as fun a revelation as the entire poem. I don't know what inspired the acrostic, but it's a complex line and a very good sequences of images. So regardless of inspiration, my Irish side still approves.

I've never really understood why it's 'kiss me i'm irish' why not 'kiss me i'm jewish' 'kiss me i'm mexican' hehe, guess we'll never know. i do like this write though. fav line: 'meet me half way' i think that's key to making a relationship work. for anyone! if only one person is putting forth effort, only one person is getting something out of it...okay, now i'm rambling. great write!

I'm not Irish but I love the kissing concept lol...that said I loved the poem . I have NEVER been able to right in this style and not end up sound like I was two...actually even you notice I don't know how to write less than 20 lines either way so... Anyway I really loved this piece and I really admire the fact that from what I read you seem to be able to flow in several different mediums.

    well approached

Nice! Few people can approach this style of poem and not come off sounding like a pre-school teacher. You, however, effectively created a piece of work that drew me in and entertained me. ...Without sounding like a pre-school teacher.

Aww this is cute. Something new, I'd never be able to make a good acrostic with "Kiss Me I'm Irish" LOL. Very cute, great job! Keep up the good work, I love how you use big words...lucky. LOL
