Tears sting the backs of my eyes;
The moment I almost lost you...
The reason I can't look at myself...

I close my eyes and listen hard
for some idea as to where I went wrong
Did I lie, did I cheat...
Did I call out anothers name?
My memory fails me at this point
and my teeth leave marks on my lip,

I bite my lip to hold back the tears,
You didn't do anything wrong..
but the words stay locked at the back of my throat
and I am left staring at the floor.
If only you could read minds...

I don't know what this is

You sigh and look away,
the look of betrayal,
