A contest you said, unusual

to meet and know each other

So true as many we are

Now if questions I had put, to you my dear Sir

I would of known a few things

and yet, not you my friend

Heard of the old saying

A man`s worth, according to his deeds?

well, that says it all, and kind of you to ask

in so offering your hand, in friendship to us all

I agree with you, Nick. Deeds do matter. BUT, I feel that this is his way of proving he is an open person (an act = a deed) who sincerely wants to know us all.
