Trembling
Courage sucked from my body
Held on to long
But not long enough

I watched you fade into nothingness
My life died
My soul ran scarred
How could I be so selfish to let you go
I wish I hadn't
I want to do it all again
I could do it differently
Nothing would change

Now I look at your headstone and cry

This hurt I feel each day is so overwhelming
