Hewn beam's
bequeathan heredities,
insufferable sculptures.
Condemning Father’s chisel.
Author notes
Nine words to say we (mankind) are the products of our own doings yet, given the opportunities we often blame our creator for any downfalls.

An intriguing piece...
An intriguing piece; I was hoping for a bit more, seeing that we "human beings" do possess many layers of complexities; appreciated the author notes - maybe you should consider incorporating those additional thoughts into this poem. --Joe

So true. Hard to admit our faults sometimes, and even harder to understand that we get what is coming to us so often. Easier to find blame elsewhere (but not in the long run.) Nicely done. I love all the assonance, too. This was like a little mini word puzzle. Didn't think it required the explanation in the notes though. You said it all in the verse.
Cool imagery. I hear Father is a Master sculptor. The chisel can be uncomfortable, but beauty always results.
Great short one!

Could be a tongue twister if one had to say this quickly. Lots said in nine short words. It is never our fault, always someone elses.

Excellent reply to this prompt! Brevity and beauty combined to create a stunning statement!

aye well it is easier to lay blame on god, it makes us feel okay then when things go wrong, we do not have to blame ourselves.
