I hear echos in the silence,
that comes at long days end.
Your tender voice calls to me,
amidst the somber wind.
Often times I close my eyes,
and watch memories cascade,
through my mind, like a power-point
slide, that's set to slowly fade.
I reflect our last words spoken,
before you went away, regret
weighs heavy now and then,
for things I did not say.
I seek the wisdom to understand,
to comprehend it all...yet,
dare not question my Masters plan,
for I know it was his call.
In tragedy, he called your name,
then quickly took you home,
erased from life, my future wife,
and unborn son were gone.
Deep in your womb, seed of my loin,
planted there with love, not meant
to bloom here on this earth, but
in heaven up above.
So, now again I ponder
another long days end.
I close my eyes and hear his laughter,
amidst the somber wind.
I await the time my name is called,
to reunite with you again...
and there I'll frolic with my son,
and find solace, amidst the somber wind.

Very Sad
Very sad but well written.

Very beautiful poem, very touching. While me and my sons mother were not on very good terms having split up before we found out she was pregnant. we were still kida close because we were having a child togeather.
As far as the structure of the poem goes. I'm not sure if the rhyme was intentional in parts of the poem or if the lines just came out that way. You poem flowed really well although I think your line breaks in teh last stanza could ahve been a little better placed. Thanks for the entry in my contest and good luck
