Within a childs heart one can hear the rippling affect of parents scream. Mine did all the time. Abuse has been a part of my childhood and adult life. Never was there a time my house was quiet till now. I find that we can change our future, but never out past.

Nicely done. Good luck in your contest ~Sie

Excellent point, I refuse to have children, for fear that I may turn out to be a father like mine was ~Bret~

I think the soul of children can be destroyed if anyone screams, they should only hear the smiles and it should last a lifetime, that is the precious gift we should be able to give them. Love, C

asking for that and getting it, is about like asking the US government to mind its own business, and having them listen.

    greatnes

I loved this poem...though I think you mean "break" instead of "brake" cuz "brake" is like if you're in the car and have to slam on your brakes...anywayz great work. Very touching subject..allot of us have been through it especially if our parents are divorced...and some even if they're not

    Aw..... This is so sad...
I like how you draw the emotion out of the reader -- in so few words...
This is very powerful -- and it just buries itself in your heart... *sniffles*
