she made me see how peace looks like

I have felt peace
looking at undisturbed
foot prints
on white sand
quiet dawn at the shore

and when the moon
seemed to be a private dancer
in my long nights
I have felt peace

then I met your smile
woman and child
a face radiating light
pure aura

there in your eyes
I have seen peace

I'm only familiar with name but now you've given me a glimpse of the essence of the person you are writing about. Thanks for the peek and the peace.

    Sincerely,

I love these simple moments of peace, you have painted. The only thing I noticed, and found myself stumbling upon, was 'feet prints'...footprints, seems to flow better (at least for me)...of course, either way I think it's a gorgeous write. Glad I stumbled upon your poetry

  • Really beautiful, Mari, and oh, so apt. I loved the serene imagery employed here. My absolute favorite line was that all encompassing line "mother and child." What wonderful expression of the wholeness of peace.

A truly endearing tribute to a great lady!

Gentle and truly a wondrous insight into
another's nature. You make the reader yearn
to know her more and that is powerful writing!

hahaha, you don't know my warrioress-side yet !!! I have it well-hidden, it just comes out of the closet occasionally ... ask my hubby, he'll say "oooh laaa ! peaceful ? invite your friends over when you put on your kali-mask !" (the hindu goddess with the blood-dripping tongue, who chops off heads and wears them as a garland - no joke ... )

but your wonderful words look behind the impermanent mask ... thank you for reminding me of my essential nature of peace - which is your very own ...

    much love,
    marion

well, it's actually more symbolic for chopping down the ego ... of course, ego does NOT like that ...

It is beautiful and could just as easily have been written about your poetry, In fact those are words I would use to describe yours.

There, my heels shouldn't get nipped for that innocuous comment.
