There is, set on it’s edge,
not far from where I sit
a patch of spring, waiting to begin.
And I, who have been so long at winter,
am praying for such a beginning;
A brand new chance and better start
at learning how the grass is green.
So I note down the fringes,
and wait impatiently for the fullness to come.
Because you are the rose’s petals
and bear the roses thorns.
But beauty, oh, wondrous beauty,
that will come with all of spring!
And rejoice, my heart,
for not far from where I am waiting,
the world is turning green!
Author notes
Never fear, my love. The light comes swift, and with it comes the summer's brilliant life.

Leander -
Thank you for your entry. I enjoyed the comparision of hope with the season of spring, I felt that was well thought out and described.
Good luck in the contest
