I am convinced that it is not the fear of death, of our lives ending that haunts our sleep so much as the fear ... that as far as the world is concerned, we might as well never have lived.
-Rabbi Harold Kushner
This world’s walls are thinner than they look, my friends
and breaking through is only the beginning
of things that begin at the end
So we who are alive push against the brink
slamming our heads against the edges of time
in our attempts to shatter through to greater things
And when you fight – when you really fight
you find a place that is twined with fire
where you live deeper and higher and wider than ever before
for glory and for wonder and for the deepest of loves
And I have found it, my friends
I have broken through the walls
and I have finally begun again
So I cast off all fear and take hold of the far side of time
because there is my endless reward
if only I lay down all my life
Author notes
Fight, and live. Fight to be alive and die to fight. Don't give up.

So true, very raw but very true. The first stanza speaks to me the most, I love the way you describe the 'begining' being the 'end' as ultimately, they work simaltaneously.
