Teary Eyes of Indulgence

          persuaded,

          by love's tasty morsel

          the frivolous heart

          becomes forgotten

          indulgence,

          is the current fashion

          until the apple turns

          rotten to the core

          the tide turns

          love is no more,

          promises spoken in passion

          are no longer binding

          they just melt away

          like chocolate kisses

          on a hot summer day

You know me better than you think you do. It is difficult to accept the fact that dreams born of passion often melt away in the light of day but such is the life of a hopeless romantic. Congratulations on the silver.

    Sincerely,

Some strong phrasing in the first stanza. I liked the "frivolous heart becomes forgotten indulgence." Clever pull together of tasty morsel and chocolate kisses. Thank you for your entry.

We know not how long love will stay but when we sense that it's beginning to fade and it's not what we thought it would be, it really is a hard time for us all.A love gone bad is a love gone bad but what we do is close the door, say goodbye and go out and love again. Is it that easy ?. All depends on how hard you slammed the door ! I'm enjoying reading your poems and getting a glimpse within.

Ouch and double ouch! It sounds like the guy was/is a real louse. Not the kind a true lady would want to get mixed up with. There are some painful feelings on display here. You did well. Good luck in your contest Lady.

This really touched me in a way that almost leaves me speechless. I can feel the hope at the beginning and then the drastic let down and hurt toward the end when the realization hits that the lizard doesn't change spots or is that a leopard? Whatever it is, the man with a fickle heart is not much of a man at all. Best of luck to ya here!

Oh that nasty frivolous hearted man. How quckly we forget his fickleness when the heart is being wined and dined at a most vulnerable moment. I like this. It says a lot for the true way womankind reacts to the needs she has and the pain she endures when disappointed. Good luck in the contest.
