Beneath The Wide Blue Yonder

sitting at the ocean's edge

beneath the wide blue yonder

I become reacquainted with myself

body, mind and soul

blue green waves nip my ankles

inching ever higher

returning again and again

like a playful puppy

while each wave lavishes upon me

the deepest secrets of ocean life

it's here I solve the world's problems,

and come to terms with myself, honestly

grieving over weaknesses

as salty tears spill into saltier water

with the passing of time

the sun kisses the sky goodnight

and a mist rises from the water

to lull all to slumber

beneath the wide blue yonder

I know the feeling well. What better place to get to know the depth of one's soul than at the edge of the deep blue ocean? Wonder-fully serene and impeccably penned. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

    Exquisite

It is certainly true that the ocean can help one reassess. The waves calm, it's constancy reassures.
It will still be there tomorrow. Just like love, the ocean can be a healing balm. Nicely done.

I admit that I was a sucker for this one. I read it more than once. The imagery was such that one has to slowly savor it to get the fullest enjoyment from all the hard work you must have put into your words here. Not just the meaning, but the artwork of your words as well. Reading this was good meditation. Best wishes in the contest Lady!
