Yesterday, while walking down the street,
my heart skipped a hefty beat
I saw someone-who looked just like you-
in a green sweater and jeans-pale blue!
For a moment,it leaped with great joy!
then, a touch of reason- it must be nature's cruel ploy!
For a magical second , i believed you had come back here
but rationale pronounced it an illusion mere!
Emotions lost and logic prevailed-
as the train of happiness, was again ,derailed
Battling with silent tears , i was left,
with orphaned memories and spaces- bereft!
Where you used to live, is now a void-
An empty heart- of love devoid!
An empty life- of you deprived.....
An empty heart- of love devoid.......................
