Finals Week

Is it a carnival?
Nay I say
it's the teachers
who give the call today.
It's finals week
the pang of doom,
the universal toll
the bell that rings
the ever present death knell
in the halls
of many an institution.
For now we get on our knees
and pray that three months worth
of goofing off
won't mean a thing
when we sit down
to take exams
and wonder
"Did I really learn this?"
So it all comes down to the wire now
We're tired and cold
and wish only for an end
to this grand hell
that we call "higher education."
All that money,
is it well spent?
or was this one big joke?
It's almost over
down to the wire
one more hurdle
one last torment
to endure before
semester's end...
and then?
