A deep needing ache;
A distraction from the world;
I can't focus, I can't sleep...
What's wrong with me?
I look for your smile,
and the warmth of your eyes,
In need to feel whole.
Then I see you,
From across the room;
You're there, I'm here;
Our eyes meet,
And I can see a flicker,
Slight, but enought to set my heart ablaze,
Of recognition;
You smile and stand
And walk over to where I'm sitting;
I feel my face grow warm,
When you take the seat next to me,
And you begin to speak;
Talking about movies and what you'd like to see
And then I realize...
That you're not talking to me...
A distraction from the world;
I can't focus, I can't sleep...
What's wrong with me?
I look for your smile,
and the warmth of your eyes,
In need to feel whole.
Then I see you,
From across the room;
You're there, I'm here;
Our eyes meet,
And I can see a flicker,
Slight, but enought to set my heart ablaze,
Of recognition;
You smile and stand
And walk over to where I'm sitting;
I feel my face grow warm,
When you take the seat next to me,
And you begin to speak;
Talking about movies and what you'd like to see
And then I realize...
That you're not talking to me...
Author notes
Don't know if this would fit your descriptions... I hope so... I've never written in this style before, so its kinda new to me. I like it. I hope you like the twist at the end... Tell me what you think; Be critical if you must.

I refuse to accept that this is about "love", so I'm going to say it's based on "light" instead.

Love?
Well... This was quite interesting. An easy to relate to piece, and rather funny.
Nice write.
Perhaps a little too cliche though?
