What Does It Take?

What does it take to understand?
He sacrificed His life for undeserving Man.

What does it take to realise
That our sins had caused His demise?

What does it take to accept the truth?
That the world is dying & we have no clue?

What does it take to know the cost?
Man's wickedness caused Heaven's greatest loss.

What does it take to have others believe
That Christ has flowed a great river through me?

What does it take to fan the flame?
Spreading his spirit, putting the devil's deeds in vain?

What does it take to die for Your people?
Killed on a Cross & treated like an animal?

What does it take to thank You enough?
It'll only be possible when we meet in Heaven above.

Author notes

12.05.2008

After weeks of being lost when the distance between Christ & me just grew & grew..

I finally realised that I can't live without Jesus.

Jesus has finally given me the fruit of courage; although I may lose that strength in the future, He will always be there for me and the people I love.

This is why He had to suffer; to take our place and to be our sin that has to be punished.

Leaving a comment It takes a strength and courage to put your faith on paper like this. I admire you for all three. My favourite lines in the poem are:

What does it take to fan the flame?
Spreading his spirit, putting the devil's deeds in vain?

It takes poems like this, and people like you who are willing to live their faith one day at a time.

    God bless!

    Bravo, well said!
This is a fantastic piece of poetry, and beautiful well expressed and conveyed true sentiments, of a very thought provoking and spirutally understanding nature. You have done a fine job on conveying a vitally important message. Congratulations on this, it needs to be said and people need to conside the consequences of their actions upon their karmic path. This should hopefully do the trick!
    Well done, love it bravo!

    This is very true.

You know I have made it my motto to God, in which I said do not let me do anything today that will embarrass you. This is a truly inspiring piece you have written.
