Fried Noodles and Salt Pork

He loved deep fried noodles and salt pork;
Smothered in cheese, eaten with a fork.
Heart attack was deserved.
His body's been preserved.
The salt and nitrites have done their work.

Author notes

I was making this for breakfast when I came across the contest.

      Fry pre-sliced salt pork til crispy, dont over cook it. Boil one package of Ramen noodles with some butter. Break up cooked salt pork. Toss noodles in the pan of pork fat for just a few seconds. If you overdo it the noodles will be too hard to eat.

      My diet leads much to be desired, but... it tastes good. Besides, I have heard you dont eat in the afterlife. I may as well enjoy it now.

  • I need to cook for you. Seriously.

    Apparently I'm getting paid to cook for the wrong people! And didn't I tell you that was on your heart attack/short-life-span list of no-nos? lol

      You can cook for me anytime. Actually you should try to do it before I have to eat much more of my own cooking.

      You know for sure that this happened as I said. By the way, you would love salt pork. It is the fat portion of bacon, but much thicker and saltier. I just have to figure out how to smuggle it to you. Thanks for reading and commenting.

      No. Not a northern thing at all. It is called a lazy bachelor thing. I had the salt pork and some bacon grease in the pan, so logic said......
