white satin lies flicker
in your empty soul, as you
fall for another mistake
and dig your own heart
for scars that aren’t there.

& within the empty abyss
of your shallow eyes; where
I used to dance
'like a crazy star,' you said-
I only see my shadow
and the sad tunes playing in
your pale iris.

I loved you- but I hate you
for how you make me feel;
the way you slap me
with your careless words.
.
& even now, I never dance
so carefree on sidewalks- or
whiz like a Christmas star
because I cannot forget
how you fell right through
when you did.
