Spanish frown,
instigated by the loss of coins
dropped into seven slots
to start the turning oven.
Terry-cloth scrubbers,
slightly damp from broken seal.
Six-thirty news propped in corner
where a television should never be.
Lint afloat
within billows of ducted wrappings,
blowing steam onto the night
above the semi-shingled roof.
Four Marlboro's
and three cans of Rochester pop
might pass the time
while waiting for rinse cycle.

Okay so I don't actually know what Rochester pop is but I am not responsible for my ignorance. You can blame my nation for its lack of variety in soft-drink options. Again, I must give kudos to a brilliant write. Absolutely fantastic

well, I really enjoyed reading this one! I liked the perspective you take on a Laundromat! I particularly love the phrase: "ducted wrappings"... it unusual and fun to say, it adds something extra.... well used diction, kudos!!

ah how i've missed your lingering perfume.
-
i love how it tells the story of many people but yet tells your good job

Ooooh.
I used to this---not anymore.
But it's been done.
Anyways I like how this was done.
yet strangely I felt something missing...But i don't know what. -
Yep ...
you've done it. This is a helluva write. I'm tempted to print it out and take it with me to read at the laudromat.
