Crosseyed

 natalie cross eyed

It was a doozie I must confess.

How embarassing,

everyone could see it,

except me, cross eyed in disbelief.

Yep, I got tripped up,

by life's curb once again.

I could blame the angels, fairies and that damn George W.,

big sigh.... nope, it was those hiding "denials."

You know, the lessons,

that thank gawd.... don't apply to me!

Sharp thorns of truth that itch and bleed.

Tight jeans of decisions that won't zip.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

When...will I learn,

easier to pause and reflect,

then to fall off  life's curb.

It's those dirty little SIX letter words,

etching, and scuplting again!

L  i  s t  e n

C h a n g e

and just when I thought,

I had conquered them all..

Along comes the piercing Seventh Torturer,

R e f l e c t  and  F o r g i v e.

It was a doozie, I must confess.

How embarassing everyone could see it,

except me,

cross-eyed in disbelief.

cross eyed

    dane cross eyed

 cross eyed

ever have days like this...when words are not enough.

apparently I am not alone in this.....gratefully.

Author notes

contest prompt: When words are not enough...

I can talk myself into a frenzy..(believe me i can)
(blush-blush)
I can seek others to give wise opinion, and try to avoid
all the six letter words, Listen and Change.
AND THAT SEVENTH WORD..oh my goodness,
I think that is a life masters degree.

I hope you liked it! ouch.ouch.ouch!

  • It can be a little hard to comment on some poems, especially when you can see two screens in front of you!
You are right, words are not enough!!!

  • Okay.

Well now a different sort of complaint, yes we did have a rough weekend. But there is surgery for cross-eyes, works okay. However we just have to learn to deal with it as you have pointed out.
