If I had forever
To explain it to you
I would use a million words

To say how much I
Wish to
Want to
Need to
Love you

And to tell you why I
Shouldn’t
Couldn’t
Wouldn’t
Love you

And if I had forever
To spend trying
In a million different ways

I would try my hardest
To
Love
You

But the truth is
I don’t have forever
Or a million words
So a few simple ones will have to do

I don’t love you

This was inspired sort of by the same friend who inspired “Love Unwanted”, but this time, I was writing from the other side of her situation. She is in love with someone who does not return that love. “Love Unwanted” was from her POV, this poem is from the POV of the man that she is in love with.
