Masks.

Fake,
Like little china dolls frozen in place.
Like your lies.

Fake,
Like the smiles you put on.
Carefully constucted,
your mask hiding you true self,
hiding from the world.
I thought we outgrew this childish game.
I don't want to play anymore.

Fake
like your smiles,
like your jokes,
like our friendship no longer
Selfishly hiding from the world,
wanting to be numb.
Stupidly hiding from the world,
the world that has not yet turned its back.

Stupidly, I see now,
there will not be a day when you don't need your mask.
There will not be a day when who you really show yourself,
there will not be a real you,

All we see are
Fake smiles,
fake laughs,
fake girl
in a fake mask.
