For the bravest and most beautiful

The bravest and most beautiful I know
Will face another week of mortal fight
She'll fill my heart with such a warming glow
While gathering the strength to meet her plight

The pain she'll feel will rip my soul in two
Yet in the end we know that it must be
This is the only thing that she can do
To save her life and set her spirit free

Radiation kills the cancer cells
But hurt the patient in most other ways
She is pulled through all the worst of hells
And every day's the blackest of all days

Take heart from all this love I send
The cancer not the love is set to end

  • This is wonderful and it is about the hardest parts of cancer. I feel the love interlaced into this poem, like a sweater knit by a loving grandmother. Thanks for entering and good luck!!

This is wonderful and I'm so glad I didn't miss it. I see she loves it and I certainly see why. You have hit on the most importiant parts of dealing with the diease.

    Love,
    Amera♥

  • And again, well written, and from the heart.

  • Once again your words hit me hard

thanks for the power of your love. If it wasnt for your daily calls and poems, your ongoing love, i dont know where i would be today. Probably alive yet sad, but luckily i am alive and smiling.

Wonderfully encouraging write Jeff. My wife is currently undergoing radiation so I relate to your words very personally. It's hard for loved ones to hear over the roar of the pain but it's also important for them to know the words are there...
