Fling in the summertime, swing in the sun,
Sing me a season of frolic and fun,
Bring out the beach hats, the dripping ice-creams,
Endless hot evenings of butterfly dreams.
Banish the wintertime, lock her away,
Vanish the dark and the cold, graying day
Set up the sun in a vibrant blue sky
Heady with birdsong. Let frosty nights die.
Let me have wide sand, an ocean of green
Get me a palette to paint in the scene,
Colour the sunset in millions of hues,
Set out the sunrise in yellows and blues.
Give us the days of the flowers and the fair
Living in laughter and empty of care
Fill them with music and bless them with heat
To remember, when winter lays snow at our feet.

Thank you for entering this in our contest. You have with your imagery taken me back to days on the beach with children...these days a glass of wine would be more my mark on a balmy evening watching the stars come out of hiding.
Please join us in future contests, we look forward to reading more of you...Sue
