Take My Hand

Missing image

Walk with me
along trodden paths

where lovers stroll,

where Summer’s heat
is calmed by willow’s shade

as soft zephyrs caress

and when we are weary,
let us rest upon sweet grass

with delicate feathered mimosa

and fragrant lilac standing
over us as I dotingly

wipe sweat from your upper lip.

Beautiful imagery in this piece. Reading this gives the reader a sense of peace and love. What a romantic setting you have created. It is no wonder you won silver.

So lovely and soft this is... like flower petals. And delightfully romantic - like love should be - and stay. Loved the colours and fragrances here... a gentle breeze of a love poem.

This is lovely, it's soft yet has that definite masculine touch. Actually only horses sweat, gentleman perspire and ladies glisten. Hehe….

    Love,

  • oh wow, this is beautiful -

    "and fragrant lilac standing
    over us as I dotingly

wipe sweat from your upper lip."

The whole poem - sweet, sensual, & that last line is very erotic! Best of luck in the contest..

  • It is cold here but your words warmed me up. Evoking thoughts of lazy summer afternoons. Well done and good luck. Juls
