A Place In Our Hearts

A hero’s calling,
Not of their own choice;
This purpose in life,
To be the silenced voice.

Not to be selected,
Their victims of circumstance;
Actions not thought through,
Made almost in a trance.

To live or die by them,
Choices they must make;
They chose the road of sacrifice,
And left the rest to fate.

Heros aren’t just born,
Just made to be that way;
Rather because of their decisions,
Their heroes to us today.

What they have in common,
Qualities that set apart;
That forever let them have,
A place in our heart.

Author notes

This poem was just something I came up with while I was on vacation in New Mexico. Just wasting time I started writing and this was the end result. I know its not very good but still another poem I wrote. It was written March 2nd 2008.

  • Well Ithink it's good.... I saw no fault with rhythm and rhyme - flawless as always I like the subject matter to... I especially like the S4 - so true.

    • Thanks. i usually end up trashing my random poems but I liked this one so I kept it and posted it.
  • I love this poem. LOVE it. You've always had a way with words.

    And have faith, Danny, because you will always be my hero no matter what. ♥
