How is it fair?
that one way or another,
I seem never to collide with you-
Floating through our cluttered lives,
we keep missing each other,
and now we've run out of that
forever
we were promised three years ago-
I may never brush back
your auburn hair
to plant a kiss
and miss,
and with an awkward, happy laugh,
replace,
or make myself a fool
in hopes of teasing forth
your angel smile
with crinkled eyes,
or-
It wasn't meant to be, it sounds
(so trite),
but I'm running out of words, excuses,
hope, and time, and so I'll force it-
It wasn't meant to be.

Wow, I really like this, the repetition throughout it works very well. I especially love that entire last part, wonderfully written.

i loved this poem!!! i could definitely relate to everything you said
It wasn't meant to be, it sounds
(so trite),
but I'm running out of words, excuses,
hope, and time, and so I'll force it-
It wasn't meant to be.
i've had trouble realizing this situation too... and u worded the feelings so well!! good luck in the contest

Wow. The way you shaped the lines in this poem looks both professional and inspiring.

hope, and time, and so I'll force it-
It wasn't meant to be."
