Blinkingwith both eyes open
my imagination breaks into daylight
like a technological action figure
peeling away at the protective plastic casing
of me.
Wonders and rainbows fill the sky like piņata prizes,
dancingon cherry frosted ice cream clouds
and tumbling downlethargically
sporting tailspins,summersaultsand pretty little pirouettes
only to land on Earth where nothing like that exists.
And in its crash,
lightning strikes my imagination's heart into pieces
scattering them like skittleson a carpetof blackest tar.
The sky's warm face
vanishes into a tornado of angry smoke
and the ground begins to flood
but this liquid is thicker than water
and has a very familiar smell.
It isn't until he dips his fingers inthat he sees it's blood.
My blood.
The raging storm battles my imagination
fighting,paddling upstream
until he zips himself upback inside my body
and all returnsto normal.
