Unknown Kin

Friends are the siblings,
You don't meet until you're grown.
Once you get to now them,
Seeds of kinship are sown.
When they come to visit,
Your home is like their own.
If you have some heartache,
They can invert your frown.

Once the ties are made,
They can never be undone.
Now you have more family,
You'll never be alone.

Author notes

Inspired from the quote "friends are the siblings God never gave us". Not sure about the title, couldn't think of anything else...

This is a wonderful poem. Though I thought the rhyme was awful awkward. However I really love the meaning of the whole poem. Just wonderful job
And best of luck in that contest you're in

I definately agree on the awkward rhyme...but my brain just didn't want to cooperate at the time. Thanks for the comment!
