Through the depths of my soul
so many things are seen,
little tears glistening
over flaming coals.
A wounded man over seas
fighting for his life,
heart is unbearable
leaving behind a loving wife
We laugh at the less fortunate
those who live the streets,
clothes that are badly soiled
as they fight the heat.
Within our eyes we simply see
the smaller picture.
Not the rewards of life
that would make us richer.
Money is what they seek
what they have is not enough.
Greedily they shoot for more
overlooking love.
Reaching high and then low
searching for position
When you open up your heart
you’ll find your spiritual mission.
Through the peep holes of your life
you peer wide-eyed, hoping.
That with His powerful grace
your heart will begin coping.
Money isn’t worth it, nor flesh’s fire
there’s a bigger picture
that fills your life’s desire.
Hungrily in Spirit, you’re so much richer
