I accept your position, I have to.
It doesn't stop us 'flying' though
in feelings which can't be weighed
or even judged in themselves.
It's the circumstances which get judged.
The feelings I believe are innocent,
desire to love and be loved.
We connect... Why?
Because we are and we do.
Doesn't mean you may not
find this with another.
Or the same with me.
But we find what we find
where we find it, and we
found each-other in this way.
You are more real to me than the ghosts
which taunt my heart from way back.
You soothe a balm of pleasure.
You move me distances with your wit.
You're feminine and beautiful.
You make me feel warm,
you make me laugh.
You reach me.
You reach my love
already-
for whatever it is
I don't believe either of us knows?
Perhaps one day we will.
I think we both want to love, and find it easy to love each-other in our ways.
I think much is mutual, then there is the the world of practicality and circumstance which tempers things in ways which churn us into deeper thought- I think. But our hearts just want to absorb 'light' where we find it or are given it.
I can't help wonder sometimes, for all my arrogance, if you meet me will you still think so highly of me and I don't doubt that you may wonder the same sometimes. But, the mind does play these kind of games, we have to tread on fears ( which is what most of them are based on) head and pin it to its place under our feet and swim through sharks and moray eels.
I'd tear the jaw from a viper,
wrestle walrus,
swim through shark and moray eel.
to make your body dance
and listen to your squeals.

dakotah:
this is so caring and passionate and beautiful... where do these words come from father? not from you head... hmmmm, perhaps from your soul.

Suzi, my lovely soul sister has got in before me, to say what I like about this piece Gary, it has shades of new love, old love, feelings woven in and out of time and zones... it also has your humour stamped on it too and your giggle comes through at the end with the cheeky yet subtle invitation to make a girl squeal?? indeed, you cad and bounder sir!!!
hehehhehe
well, you tarzan, her jane?? leaping from vines and wrestling walrus and sharks etc etc
if nothing else, that is big big big love
thanks for entering our contest

Thank you for the 'honour'.

If not for the perception forthcoming from such as yourself, often gleaning even the things 'writers' aren't fully aware of... then this poetry writing lark wouldn't be half the fun it is!
Bless your cotton... mm... stockings?
Oooohar' uu' wooahrrr ooowhar-ooh'wharrrrrrr!

There is light here, I won't deny that, it is beautiful..
But also there is shade, and I like that you have this balanced. You have placed a line that separates fantasy from reality, and it seems you have managed a comfy place between the two.
Not many have that knack, myself included (though, I hope my experience will put me in that center zone soon as well.)
This is love, yeh
There is lust, too, lol, but in a small enough dose that there is no confusion of the intention here.
So there is humanity.. and that Beauty you spoke of before.
Really nicely done.

Thanks so much Suzanne.
I believe that I do have moments of light... but yes, I also wobble along with the best of company and sometimes big style. May things be made easy for us.

*sigh* ahhh the 'what ifs' of love
This has to be the most romantic poem I have read in quite a long time, perhaps ever. It is pasionate, and full of raw thoughts and emotions, unedited... Just like love.
This is my favorite part:
"It's the circumstances which get judged.
The feelings I believe are innocent,
desire to love and be loved."
Those lines touched me because I can 100% realate.
Good luck in the contest (not that you need luck here).

Okay...this is just so GOOD! You make me jealous! You definitely have a way with words...or maybe it's just me, but thanks! That was terrific! AGAIN!

Hey thanks Magic! I'm going to miss calling you 'beany and bean buyer', but I do like your new name and I'm sure you wont mind the odd 'magic' coming back at you now and again.
Thank you faith, for your 'magic whispers'. Sol
