Pain in my ribs
it won't subside
35 weeks pregnant
so happy to be alive
Doctor said he will
weigh more than 10 pounds
He can't sit still
always running around
Put your ear to my tummy
and see what you hear
But you better be careful
his foot may kick your ear
If you look closely
I'm sure you will see
His tiny footprint
embedded in me
Five more weeks until
I see your sweet face
Memories of these times
I will always embrace
it won't subside
35 weeks pregnant
so happy to be alive
Doctor said he will
weigh more than 10 pounds
He can't sit still
always running around
Put your ear to my tummy
and see what you hear
But you better be careful
his foot may kick your ear
If you look closely
I'm sure you will see
His tiny footprint
embedded in me
Five more weeks until
I see your sweet face
Memories of these times
I will always embrace
Author notes
This was so much fun and brought back memories of when I was pregnant with my son Daniel, it felt like he was breaking my ribs! He ended up weighing almost 10pounds and his feet were so long!

What a cute poem...
Written tongue-in-cheek but still very personal to you I'm sure.
The picture is great and it fits so well with this poem!
Keep on writing!

10pounds in a big child...but healthy none-the-less and i'm sure after delivery the pain left and you were estatic?

Adorable poem. I loved laying in the bathtub and seeing all the baby aerobics... you have conveyed this special happiness perfectly!

My brother was about ten punds when he was born. The nurses called him thunder thighs.
He was a big baby and he is a tall guy.
