Passed On

Old woman
Where have you gone?
There are cobwebs in your doorway,
And your shades are always drawn.

I came twice yesterday,
And trice the day before,
But there was no answer
To my scratches at your door.

I waited on your window sill
Peering into your home, now dark .
I waited for hours and days and moons
And now I wait in our favorite park

Old woman, have you left forever?
Are you some where safe and pretty?
Shall I go and find you?
No, I’ll simply wait here and see.
