[ His sparkly eyes ]

His sparkly eyes
and gumless smile.
The highlight of my day,
and my saving grace.
I may only get an hour of rest,
but I know you are worth it.
On those days I want to give up,
and throw it all away,
you are what helps me be strong.

My baby boy,
my sweet baby boy.
Someday you will grow up,
and you will surely rebel against me.
You will yell and scream,
but I will always love you.
Because nothing can weaken my love for you.

My little man,
there will be a special time,
when a woman will take your breath away.
I hope you sweep her off your feet.
Sure I will cry when you put the ring on her finger,
but I will always be by your side.

This is my favorite part of your poem. It makes me so happy and I think that you saying it how it is truly makes a difference in life. Not evereyone can be so honest....

This was a beautiful, touching, & heartfelt write. A mother and father will raise their children the best they can,.. and can only hope they will grow up to be someone amazing, well-mannered and treat their wife one day the way you (husband or wife) were treated; with love, respect, and honour.

This was a treasure to read! Thanks for entering & best of luck

How sweet. It makes me want to have kids someday, in the far future, I'm only 23, so that I can write poems like these.
