Smiling With the Sun

Farther away from what we know.
Two worlds apart, unable to let go.
Fragmented memories, fallen dreams.
Drowning in chords of both our screams.

Grasping the air
To fall down in despair.
Reaching out with our minds
To find ties that bind.

Stretching together from lands far away.
Mountains straining to keep us at bay.
Lifted ban for just a while,
Then on one knee, you made me smile.

One year I'll wait
For what's told by fate.
Then together,
We'll be forever.

Two lives merged as one.
Smiling with the sun.
Together, the same.
You finally came.

Author notes

This is an odd poem for me because I don't normally like poems like this. But I can do it every once in a while.
