He was the scuttlebutt of the town
and for his scatterbrain was well renowned,
they scrutinised his every move
for he didn't fit within their groove.
A snobby lot, treating him with scorn
simply for not being to the manor born,
their scathing comments would bring them undone
for he'd heard of their schemes and would not be outdone.
He plotted and planned, digging deep
many hidden skeletons did he happen to reap,
seething he was at such incredible ego
for many scandals he found way below.
They all scrambled for cover , lest their secrets came out
not good for their image, of this there was no doubt,
stealthily they called him the scoundrel from hell
as they scampered for cover before he sounded death's knell.
Now outwardly they treat him with utmost respect
for none of them knew who was really suspect,
the title of scoundrel he'd happily wear,
keeping these villians on their guard and always beware!
