Bloated stomachs
under the swollen sun,
no river
can ever quench
this yearning thirst,
after this long forever.
No food
will ever fill
the home
of this broken family.
No books
can ever teach enough
to help
this forlorn child.
Author notes
This is Cambodia. These happy people have nothing, and what do we do?... nothing.

Yes Cambodia certainly seems to be a forgotten country. I think you have captured the hopelessness of so many Third World countries today.
Excellent write. Thanks so much for your entry.
