haunted faces taunt and lean
as I hide inside this case of glass
I never know what they all mean
the glares and snears while they all pass
my tears cascade on cheeks of white
yet my eyes are still so dry
I never ask if it was right
to let him love and lie
but now I sit in my hollow shell
trying to get free
regretting yet the day i fell
and the day he fell for me
he took my dreams to lock away
and keep them from the world
put me in this case to stay
to be forgotten forever more
and now I stand the same as then
watching life pass me by
sometimes people glance within
to watch the broken cry

great work
Wow Erika this is very VERY good! Such sadness conveyed. The glass is representative of the safety barrier we all set up after being hurt and dejected.

I just wish that the safety barrier would be unbreakable.
