I, Anne of Kellynch Hall

For many long years, I Anne
have thought of you with such longing
The torment of instruction
that drove you from my heart
has long driven all joy from my life
For those I loved
who's affection I sought above all others
betrayed me with advice
and replaced my lost love
with scorn and apathy
For years the rejection and self-reproach
has played upon my hours of solitude
teasing me, testing me
telling me that the choice I made was wrong
but all that is forgot
the moment our hands touch
your forgiveness washes over me
driving all their abuse from my mind
your love, so pure and complete
conquers all that I I've had to endure
and makes the 10 years prior
almost not exist

This was really good. It brings the pain that Captain Wentworth went through that Jane Austen didn't talk to much about in the book. It was nicely put, with emotion and truth that the reader of Persuasion understands subconcsiously.
    Nice job!
