Summer Story

I remember all those summer nights
Spent in your embrace
The endless moments and despair
And tears upon your face
Now the years have torn apart
Those moments crystal clear
And left an empty broken heart
Filled with loneliness and tears

But those were days of yesterday
So many come and gone
Now life has changed faster than we knew
The sadness just goes on
For time has left a fatal mark
That I know will never heal
Just leave me to my memories
Because now that's all I feel

I can't return those days have gone
There is no turning back
For all the money in the world
There's not enough for that

So leave me where my head can lie
Among those fading memories
Of summer nights filled with despair
And other fatalities
For truth is buried in our dreams
And covered with their smiles
That will always break unwary hearts
And fill them with their wiles

But those were days of yesterday
So many come and gone
Now life has changed faster than we knew
The sadness just goes on
For time has left a fatal mark
That I know will never heal
Just leave me to my memories
Because now that's all I feel

I can't return those days have gone
There is no turning back
For all the money in the world
There's not enough for that

This piece flows really well and the use of repetition works well to get your idea across. Of particular note is the first stanza which is particularly eloquent and as beautiful as heartbreak can be. Good luck in the contest
