to hear the breeze among the trees
and watch the flowers sway.
Don't cry for my passing, I do not mean you grief.
Recall and save what joy I gave
and share in my belief:
Heaven's in the moment when I forget the pain.
Assure my friends love never ends
if memory remains.

if we stay where we are we become aligned with the divine, a moment becomes timeless and we are in peace
beautifully written
God bless my friend...

May many blessings be returned in the cycle, Pisces rainbow.
Thank you for your kind appreciation and applause. Aligning oneself with hope and one's highest ideals takes time, we have stages along the way - ultimately we find peace.

Oh Margaret. This is just lovely. The simplicity of the language used adds the innocent softness you are conveying through this comforting verse. I smiled wishing I had read this at the time of losing someone very dear.
Beautiful. ~Pamela

Dear Pamela, thank you. It takes a long time to find comfort after a devastating loss; sometimes losses add up and the grief comes out for all at once. Consolation now might not have meant anything then.
I'm glad you find it comforting now.

...you may be right.

Love never does end when memory remains. Oh my, this is just delightfully soft and tender. Such beautiful voice in this piece. I loved it.

If you can enter just to participate, so can I, I don't want to win either.
Well that is a heaven you and I can agree upon with no disagreement. It's a lovely poem Margaret, and it's a way of going away without the unpleasantness of physically passing, for I assume that was your words here, to take time out, to resign for a bit from the hustle and bustle, a death of sorts for those who expect the world from you, even a death for for you in some ways...and I'm using "you" too loosely, since I actually mean me more than anyone else. For there is so much emotions wrapped up even that desire to find space, that need to find it.
Bla bla bla, I am done.

Thank you for your comment and applause Ima Duck.
Peace is attainable before death; we must stop resisting the inevitable. People who "expect the world from you" are invariably disappointed. I have proved myself human over and over, but they don't get it. This is not my problem.
That's enough said for one day.

Dear Margaret,
Very beautiful words you have penned. We all hope to leave this world with people who will love and remember us and you my dear have certainly succeeded in doing just that. Bravo to you. I love the picture you have added.

Oh Margaret ...
this poem SO touched me ... It is gentle, and true ... and there is a soft purple hue in sound and in visuality.

Special!
Particularly beautiful for those of us who have lost many loved ones over the years, for it brings with it a great truth, that love never, ever dies.
Thank you for this.

Dear Margaret,
Thankyou for participating in this contest with this poetic gem. I am especially touched by your closing lines:
"Assure my friends love never ends
if memory remains."
Having passed my 'three score years and ten' I am increasingly conscious of the message of Dickens in his story: "The Haunted Man" in which his leading character prays: "Lord, keep my memory green!"
Incidentally, in a much more acceptable entry than that penned by Heathcote, you have adroitly combined all three contest options.
Enjoy the breeze, the flowers, your belief and your love, for therein lies the path to Happiness and, maybe, to Heaven.
Best of luck in the voting (only the Non-Entries of 'Officials' are exempt from voting!)
Congratulations on a fine poem, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)

Assure my friends love never ends
if memory remains

I love the smell of lilacs too. Thank you for commenting Susan.

The lilacs are mostly gone here in PA. I enjoyed them for the few weeks that they were around. There is a huge bush that no one tends to near my home. I cut several bougquets several times to enjoy their fragrance and beauty.
I like your voice here, Margaret, about passing of loved ones. Especially, "recall and save what joy I gave". Love the photo.
