Everything's perfect

Chorus: Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I’m just lying here bleeding on the floor.
Perfect Everything’s perfect.
I’m just crying all alone.
Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I’m just wishing that I would die.
Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I’m just the only one whose soul can’t fly.

You look at me and say,
“Do you need help? Are you ok?”
Well, what do you think?
Do you normally see people bleeding over the sink?
I want your help, but that I can’t admit.
I’ll just have to get over it. So I say

Chorus

My eyes are calm, but my heart is pleading,
“Please, oh please help me to stop this bleeding.”
My words are happy, but I feel only sorrow.
I’ll probably feel better if I’m still alive tomorrow.
Now please, oh please don’t stare.
Save me from this nightmare. But I only say

Chorus

You look at me and recognize my lies.
You give me help to try and stop my cries.
You release me from my blood and wishes to die.
You let my soul go free and fly.

Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I’m no longer bleeding on the floor.
Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I no longer have to cry alone.
Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
I no longer want to die.
Perfect. Everything’s perfect.
My soul can fly as long as you’re by my side.

Author notes

I wrote this a while ago but it fits perfectly. So "Stop the bleeding in my heart" would be the 'prompt.'

Thank you for entering my "Celebrating Poetry and Poets" competition. However, you seem to have misunderstood the purpose of it. For your poem makes no mention of either poetry or poets! Maybe the speaker in this poem is intended to represent a poet or to be addressing a poet - but this is not stated in the text itself, and it is on the basis of the text itself that a competition judge must decide. Sorry - but for this competition your entry has to be considered a "non-starter". But I wish you luck with it elsewhere!
