Being who you are
Isn’t always a roadmap of conformity –
expectation shackles, drowns
and we are lost.
Doing what you do
Can’t always be easy –sucking demands
feast on fractured minds
until we implode.
but sometimes, just sometimes
I quite like the me
you see, even when the face
is no longer mine.
Author notes
This is very much a first draft, I'm sure it would benefit from redrafting a few times

As we get older, we are less likely to recognise the face staring back at us from the mirror. This is especially true for the very old. Life sucks. And so do I.

This stanza is my favorite though. Good luck

Good Job
It's always nice to realize that we can be our own best friend. Nicely done.
