Got onto the train so long ago
The cold grips us each night
Huddling together for warmth
We wonder where the train will stop
Marking the days on the floor
Carving it into the wood
The never ending journey
Has caused so much death
The fear that we may be next
Hangs in the air just like the lonliness.
We miss our homes and our families
Don't know when we'll see them again
Glancing through the cracks in the carrige door
Miles of tracks lay before us
Cold settles in all around us
We beg and scream for water
Day by day the numbers fall
The grip of fear takes us all.
On this never ending journey
The men all talk of the rumours they have heard
People being taken from their homes
For doing nothing at all
And on this never ending journey
We stop once in a while
I catch a view of the free world
And wish I lived there
Once more.

Just a quick comment to say thanks for entering this into my contest, sorry you didnt win but obviously there can only be three trophies given, which is a shame cause in this contest there deserved to be alot more winners! xxx

For some reason, this reminds me of the prisoners being shipped to concentration camps during the Holocaust. Emotionally arresting, and brilliantly written.
Best of luck and thanks for entering!
