Deutsche Christen II

"Nichtarier werden gebeten, die Kirche zu verlassen."

I can still feel Him
forced into a corner
of the church
where little Aryan sheep
are taught about the "bad" things
the vicious Jews have done...

"Nichtarier werden gebeten, die Kirche zu verlassen."

Doesn't anyone remember the past?
- a time without the "Führer",
when we were one in Christ,
and we lived our lives according to the Bible?

Maybe it will be like that again
one day.
But now...

"Nichtarier werden gebeten, die Kirche sofort zu verlassen!"

Why is the cross still hanging on the wall,
why has Jesus not yet descended from it?

Your Jesus is not the one I believe in.
My Jesus is not a celebrated hero,
but God who was born into this world
for a reason.

Secretly, you swept the fact
that He was a Jew
under the carpet.
What counts is
that YOUR Jesus
was crucified by the wicked Jews.

Was YOUR Jesus too weak,
was it "the Jews" that were able to kill YOUR Jesus?

You have degraded YOUR Jesus to being the victim -
to justify your hatred toward God's chosen people.
They are His brothers,
don't you understand?

The cross is still hanging on the wall,
but for how long? - I wonder.

Author notes

"Nichtarier werden gebeten, die Kirche (sofort) zu verlassen."
"Non-Aryans are requested to leave the church (immediately)."

Inspired by:

„Vision Gottesdienst.
Wieder bleibt alles still.
‚Nichtarier werden gebeten, die Kirche sofort zu verlassen!’
Da steigt Christus vom Kreuz des Altars herab und verlässt die Kirche."

published in „Evangelischer Ruf", October 1933

Translation:

"Vision (of) church service. The introit has been sung. The pastor is standing at the altar and begins:
'Non-Aryans are requested to leave the church.'
Nobody moves.
'Non-Aryans are requested to leave the church immediately.'
Again, everything remains silent.
'Non-Aryans are requested to leave the church immediately!'
Thereupon Christ descends from the cross of the altar and leaves the church."

    Wow !

There are some very powerful words here...and a powerful message too. Nicely written and I like the way you have presented it with two languages. Perhaps the real message behind your poem is that we should all speak the same language (humanity)

Look for the beauty of God please.

With God in your heart why you wish he leaves you.

I am not a Christian maybe Aryan by race
But the lord of lord's teaches us grace
In goodness and good will we should pace
God is one to each one religion in no race.

Please forgive us lord for we have many things to learn.
I give you points to say at least you think of God.

Hello, thank you for stopping by, I appreciate the time you took to comment on this poem.
I'm not sure if I understand your comment correctly though.
The only point I'm trying to make is that the Nazis abused Christianity for their own terrible plans, e.g. to have many "loyal followers" who would help them "exterminate" the Jews.

This poem in no way reflects my own beliefs. I love God/Jesus with all my heart!

This is a very powerful poem full of opinions pain and suffering. This is also very creative in my opinion.

This seems to be the exact poem of the other one; whether it has minor edits here and there or not I find irrelevant because my opinion of the first one is the same as this one.

I know there aren't any huge differences, but I just wanted to hear people's opinions on both writes... That's why I entered these two into your contest.
      Thank you for your comments!

    oh my dear one ...
    sigh ...
I really have no words ... just feeling so much love for all those who have suffered so much out of human ignorance ...

you have a lot of courage to express consciousness in verse, may it reach the goal, and eradicate ignorance from human minds ...

    blessings to you always,
    marion (hannah)
