Yeah I blame it on society
For our world being in a calamity
Turn around and all I see is tragedy
Some are in the light, but barely
If a person falls all others do is laugh
But oh don't help on my behalf
I shake my head as I see a selfish world
People sit in their own bubbles nice and curled
All I gotta do is "get mine"
As long as I "do me" I'll be fine
This all I ever hear
Slowly down my cheek rolls a tear
I hate to say it, but it must be said
Chilvary is mostly nowadays dead
Can't get it out my head
People used to help each other
That used to be my sister and brother
Now even families are torn apart
It is slowly breaking my heart
Single men and women raising kids
Make me want to pray and close my eyelids
All everyone cares about is money
Let me tell you now it don't taste as sweet as honey
Sucess is more bitter sweet
Cause most got it through deciet
Then the rich feed others in other lands
Not listening to our countries demands
So yeah I blame it on society for not being a good role model
Author notes
I have a lot to say about this, but this covers the basics.

Oh yes! So true. It is very sad, but this is what the world has become. I totally agree here. I, too could go on and on about this. Great poem!

Wow, you deserved to be a winner, this poem is amazing. It really displays the pitfalls of the 'american dream' that everyone has dreamed but most haven't or will never live. I really like this piece.

Hey, thanks for entering. This is right on the mark as far as what I was hoping to find when I picked the little prompt for the contest. Great job.
