a realistic symbol
there is a parting when it comes to the perforated seam to go off and make your own life, possibly moving into a family. "let go" reinforces the detachment that might have small discussing in the process. you're still have to do it, soaring into the world away from your parents, hopefully not too far away however. and, of course the little ducks and so forth, though they don't carry as intense feelings. it is also neat for your last word to whisper off into imagination, or that's what it does for me.
