The winter snow falls leaving an icy chill around your heart,
but one look from her leaves a warmth that will melt any ice.
You wonder if you should dare to try to get closer to her,
is the chance of happiness worth the threat of heartbreak?
She's one of the strongest people you have ever met,
and this intimidates you.
Yet she has one of the kindest countances,
and this makes you feel inferior.
She cares more for people she barely even knows,
than you do for your close friends.
She would easily give her life for another,
you find her caring nature to be breath taking.
You wonder if you should dare to try to get closer to her,
is the chance of happiness worth the threat of heartbreak?
She's everything that you think you've ever wanted,
but could you ever get through her walls?
She's been hurt time and time again,
though you can't imagine how someone could hurt her.
She barely ever lets anyone in,
for the fear of being hurt again.
Is the time and energy it would take,
really worth getting in to her heart?
Are you really the one,
that will teach her to trust again?
And even if you do get in,
you make mistakes.
Could you bare the thought,
of seeing tears roll down her face.
You know that she has her heart set on the perfect guy,
and you know you're not perfect.
But maybe you could be perfect for her.
Is it possible that you two are meant to be?
She only truly has one standard,
that you are on fire for God.
But can you show her the love and compassion,
that she truly deserves.
So you take a step back,
and wipe the dust from your shoes.
And just like so many others,
you count her as a lost cause.
Skepticism gets the best of you,
you know she can't really be worth the fight.
You decide you shouldn't dare to try to get closer to her,
this chance at happiness isn't worth the threat of heartbreak.
