Artists palette, paints, prepare,
poets channel insight rare.
One canvas fills, one paper inks,
bridge imagination's links.
Their respective streams compare
perspectives, sensitively share,
self-respecting, neither sinks.
Each intuitively thinks
symphonic patterns, well aware
individuals everywhere
beauty sense beyond time's brink -
horizons widen, never shrink.
Pictures formed accompany
free originality.

Well done poet! You did an immaculate job with flow and imagery. My best to you. I can't wait until I can see who wrote what so I can read some of your other work. Best of luck in life and in this contest.

Amazing
This was so awesome. It totally 'paints' a poet's picture or poem whichever way you look at it. Now I will tell you my honest review of this totally amazing poem that could never be topped in the history of the universe and the future to come with all of the electronic devices and such. Now for my honest review.
Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!!
I think you get my point. I loved your poem sooooooo much that I am inspired. Correction, I am beyond inspired. And to think that this was written in less that 50 words. You are a true poet, and a true artist at that!!! -
You painted many great images with your words here. Great write, thank you for entering the contest. Good luck.

I love the word usage in this poem. The way you describe the artist is very well done. I love the imagery here. I think that a painter must be very similar to a writer because they both start from a blank slate and go from whatever their minds decide to go. Sometimes its a wonderful work of art. While at other times it is junk.
Your poem is wonderful. Please keep up the good work!

My favorite lines would be the first four:
"Artist's palette, paints, prepare,
poets channel insight rare,
One canvas fills, one paper inks,
Bridge imagination links."
That paints a beautiful picture for me. You manage to rhyme without it being forced. That I respect greatly, plus-- no misspellings, it's totally in rhythm, and it is exactly fifty words without anything being restrained. I will undoubtedly read more of your works!

My only critique to this poem would be that line 10 slows down the flow of the rhyme. I understand why you chose the wording, it was just a sticking point for me. On the whole, I really liked this! It's a break from the norm, and very refreshing .. direct without losing it's poetic mystique. Very nicely written, thanks for posting! - Bunny

Very nice interplay between the two art forms. I also thought the rhyme scheme was well done - a difficult chore in so short a verse. Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz

The artist and the poet are one and the same when it comes to skill. Each paints a picture of what they see, think, feel or imagine in their own way and though the end product is always viewed uniquely, hopefully it is done with satisfaction.

Outstanding
I like the way you combined the worlds of the poet and artist together with an original and compelling poem. We admire the artists perception of the world and yet find something totally different in the poet's sense of humanity. Both are sublime art forms so different and yet with the same goal to see the world in a new and exciting perspective. Best of luck in the contest.
