Liar

But you promised you wouldn’t leave.
“I’m right here baby.”
Those were your words.
That’s such a lame excuse,
you were partying, weren’t you?
You promised you wouldn’t leave.
“I’ll always be here if you call.”
Those were your words.
The phone just keeps ringing.
BEEP. Hi, this is Alex, leave a message …
You promised you wouldn’t leave.
“You’ll always have me to cry to.”
Those were your words.
The blood from my cuts hit the crisp white sheets,
and so do my tears. Where are you?
You promised you wouldn’t leave.
“I’ll keep breathing as long as it pleases you”
Those were your words,
but when I got there, the line was flat
you were lying.

Author notes

So this was based off of my two best friends, Alex and Sienna. They're dating. One time, Alex was at my house and he was talking to Sienna online, and he's all "i'm paranoid you're going to leave me" and she's all "i'm right here, baby" and he's all "i don't mean like that, i mean, if something ever happened to you, i don't know what i'd do, i wouldn't be able to live without you alive" and she's all "i'll keep breathing as long as it pleases you". i thought it was outragiously cute, so i wrote a poem based on it, only i switched the point of view. it has a sad ending, but i mean, life has a sad ending, get over it xD
